About Us
Introduction
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST) was established in 1994 under the Purbanchal University Act, 2050 (1994)”. In 1996, it started three years Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.) program in Biratnagar which was the pioneer program of Nepal but currently FOST has offered four years Bachelor Programs in IT, Engineering and two years Master Program based on credit hours and semester system. FOST is going to provide master programs in Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agriculture and veterinary in future. FOST is running its programmers through its three Constituents and twenty four affiliated campuses in the country. FOST provides 10% Scholarship in each course (5% for Open and 5% for Reserved). The scholarship will be provided according to present Scholarship act of Purbanchal University.
The Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST) offers a wide range of qualifications in the areas of Computer science, information technology, and engineering, agriculture and veterinary.
The FOST will provide excellent research opportunities in Computer science, information technology and Engineering in future.three
Dean's Message
Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Technology. It is my great pleasure to serve as the Faculty Dean and be able to work with a team of academic and supporting staff who have strong commitment in education and teaching to nurture a new generation of professionals.
Our world is presently approaching a time of immense change. Societal change driven by advances in digital and ICT innovation continues at an accelerated pace and we are seeing seismic shifts that may very well overturn the foundations of our society.
The development and retention of talent to oversee AI, IoT, Big Data and security technologies, as well as the data science that underpins these technologies, is now considered a matter of urgency as we move towards realizing the government’s policy and as such strong calls are being made for universities to boost education and human resource capabilities in information-related fields.
The Faculty offers IT and non-engineering degree programmes with applied orientation. Many of the programmes have also received professional recognition. The Faculty has produced a good number of graduates, who are contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of Nepal. Some of the graduates further their studies for a higher degree at local and overseas universities. It is evident that our graduates have received a wide variety of opportunities through the years of study and training at Faculty of Science and Technology.
In addition to equip our students with professional knowledge and practical skills, it is also our aim to equip students through the educational training with strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and professionalism appropriate for the workplace. All our programmes help students to connect to the professional bodies and the industry, enabling them to gain real-life work experience and build up network with potential employers and industry leaders.

Purbanchal University School of Engineering and Technology (PUSET), being constituent Campus of Purbanchal University (PU), is situated in BiratnagarMetropolitan City. It has been established in year 2056 B.S. with an aim to provide quality education to meet the national and international need of the profession. The Objectives of PUSET are to produce quality engineering manpower, software developers, and IT specialist to fulfill the increasing demand of national as well as international job markets. PUSET has offered the following Master and Bachelor programs under the Faculty of Science and Technology.

G.P. Koirala college of agriculture and research centre (GPCAR), being constituent Campus of Purbanchal University (PU), was established in 2073 as the constituent college of Purbanchal university, Gothgaun, Nepal. It offers four year course on B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons).
Purbanchal University College of Environment and Forestry (PUCEF), being constituent Campus of Purbanchal University (PU), was established in 2075 as the constituent college of Purbanchal university, Gothgaun, Nepal. It offers four year course on Bachelor of Science in forestry (B.Sc.Forestry) and a two year Master’s in Environmental Administration and management Programs.
The Faculty of Science & Technology has 23 members of faculty board of Science & Technology to act and facilitate body of Academic council.
